Lauren Barnett, a world class triathlete, is suing a Texas-based company, Classified Nutrition, for not disclosing Ostarine on the label. This drug is strictly banned by the majority of anti-doping organizations that govern the Olympic sports.
Barnett claims she took a Neurolytes pill prior to her running the July 2016 Ironman competition, which was held in Racine, Wisconsin. A random drug test was performed after the had won the race, and she tested positive for Ostarine. She subsequently failed the drug test, and was stripped of her Ironman Title.
Barnett has sued Classified Nutrition claiming negligence, loss of income from her sponsorships and endorsements. She also claims her reputation has been damaged.
