Who is Bhumika Sharma?

This 21-year old woman from India is the first ever Indian to ever win the Miss World Bodybuilding Championship held in Venice, Italy in June 2017.

Bhumika Sharma was born in Dehradun, the capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

She became interested in the world of bodybuilding when she met a bodybuilding coach in India, and he encouraged and inspired her to be a bodybuilder.

She trained hard, and her routine is packed with rigorous exercises, intensive and long hours training at the gym, including extreme weight lifting, and a very strict diet. She credits the good food quality in her hometown, and also the natural climate of the gorgeous Himalayan hills. It also helps that her mother, Hansa Manral Sharma, was the head coach of India women’s weightlifting team.

In June 2017, in Venice, Italy, she competed with 50 other bodybuilders across the world and she became the reigning championship. This is such a feat as she is the first Indian woman ever to win such a title–Miss World BodyBuilding Championship.

She scored the highest in all three areas: individual posing, body posing, and fall.

She is now taking a break and is preparing to compete again in December of 2017 for the World Universe Championship.
